Randall & Co. Baltimore, MD. German silver. 15mm. Reeded edge. Rv. Battle Monument, MINERAL WATER above, CITY HOTEL below. Obv: MONUMENT / (flower) / RANDALL & Co / Balt / SQUARE.

This piece is possibly the finest known of this scarce variety.

Obv: Crisp and well-struck with semi-circular die crack on right-hand side.

Rev: Crisp and well struck.

Pale brown with light rose iridescence over nearly full lustre cartwheels.

Comments Considerable mint red color remaining on both sides. Broad struck partly out of collar with a widern than normal rim on the right obverse and almost no rim on the left of that side. Given this error, this is still among the finest known of this variety.

Small planchet clip at 6:00. Light brown with booming luster. Faded mint color is present on the reverse. The strike is somewhat weak, especially around the edge lettering.

Rev: Weak strike around the edges fades some of the lettering into the surface.
