This token appears cleaned. However, according to Sullivan, the gilded brass pieces were heavily coated in an attempt to simulate gold.

A sharp and well-struck piece. Small carbon spots on both obverse and reverse do not detract from the lustre and eye appeal of this token.

An amazingly clear and lustrous strike. A better example cannot be found.
