What The Experts Say...
HT 408, Low 246
R8. 21mm. Brass. 1.7 grams. VF/XF. One of the rarest of the Pennsylvania scorecards. Fuld comments (TCP, p. 84) "This token's
rarity can be attested by the fact that Dr. Hetrich's almost complete collection of Pennsylvania tokens did not contain a specimen."
Modern research had identified this card as that of Solomon Feather, who ran a hotel in Horristown, PA., a suburb of Philadelphia.
There are two known examples; this piece which first appeared in our 34th Sale in 1983, Lot #6 ($2650.00), and the Litman-Miller
specimen which we offered in our sale of December, 2004 and sold for $3105.00 ($4000.00+)
