With the D.C Johnston bank note cartoon, re-struck from the original copperplate belonging to the American Antiquarian Society, laid in. Mint Condition. The test concerns the life and work of this latter-day American Cruikshank who was especially noted for his caricatures satirizing Andrew Jackson. Included is a brief history of events leading up to the establishment of the Sub-Treasury which inspired the Bank Note caricature by Johnston. An interesting sidelight on American economic histor in the Hard Times period.
